This piece reflects all the artists in my life here at home, my husband, my kids, and myself. It seems we all mark our spots for the day, and today it was for little ones. This is their art, pens without tips, a lone crayon, plus the remnants of a pretend picnic. I look at it and I can still hear the excitement and noise that went along with the activities. This table in a constant state of change also holds my pens and brushes while I sit on the couch, my husband's feet while he kicks back and relaxes, my kid's weight as they sneak up and jump off. It gets covered with pen, and sticky candy handprints, and spilled paint and water and milk...It takes the abuse and then miraculously cleans up to a shine now and again, projecting an almost sarcastic temporary sense of organization.
