This expressionist abstract landscape is of a particular stretch of Highway 78 between Memphis,Tn and Tupelo,Mississippi. I live about half way between the two points and as we travel east toward Tupelo on the interstate it rises high above the surrounding landscape giving some expansive and impressive views. This particular landscape vista is particularly beautiful in spring and fall.This was painted plein air March ,2004 in Benton County,Mississippi, where Insterstate 78 crosses Highway 178 just past the truckstop in Hickory Flat,Mississippi.
