How long have you been creating?
Probably early on around 4 years old. I was great at art & crappy at math! So my teachers incouraged me in the artworld. I guess that worked because here I am! It's part of me to be creative. I pretty much extend that side of me into everything I do.
What is your media of choice?
Acrylic paint, 3-D Paint, Sequins & Beads at the moment.....who knows though that could all change knowing me!
What are you motivations for creating?
Making people smile, Making me smile!!! Trying to be not so so serious is a huge motivation for me. I am always painting I enjoy it...it's like a meditation for me... and okay....the money....the millions I make on eBay are sooo worth it *chuckles*
What other artists or movements inform your work?
I love Picasso, Modigliani....they would be my favourtie artists of all time. I don't really have a favourite movement....I work in an Art Museum so I am spoilt really with how much art I see & different forms of art....none that really inform my work though. At least I don't think so.....hmmmm
What do you find visually stimulating right now?
My laptop. I have just installed SuSe Linux 9.0 & it's too much fun. I can't stop playing around on it.
What's the last book you read?
Linux in a Nutshell (of course!)
You're an Australian native currently living in the United States; tell me about the two unique cultural influences on your work.
I think I have a strong aboriginal quality to my work. I was lucky enough to work with aboriginals & learnt about techniques that they use & what the symbology of the artwork meant. It was very interesting & I think I carry over the detailed dot work (loosely) in my work. The US hasn't really had much of an influence too my artwork in the creating or style of it.......not that I am aware of. Canvas's are a bit cheaper here *grins* & being able to reach a larger more responsive audience (US audience) on eBay has been the biggest difference I have seen from living in the US & selling art online or in the community.
What would you like your fellow EBSQ artists and our collectors to know about you and/or your work?
That I am a big geek. I adore computer anything, Linux anything, HTML anything....it's tragic. I am kooky & my Husband thinks I am crazy......I know I am just misunderstood of course *wink*
