I have a special place in my heart for all horses. But I have a sacred place for Paints and Pintos. I am always drawn to adding Feathers hanging from thier mane or tail.
Bandit was the name of a draft paint I used to ride as a child. He was a gentle giant with one blue eye. He has passed on but lived a long wonderful life. This painting is dedicated to Bandit.
I used Pen and Ink on Bristol board for the initial drawing and added gouache for color. It is the standard ACEO size which is becoming a very popular way to collect art work.
Although I love the beauty of horses, I try to include various subjects in my work. So far, I love working with the Pen & Ink and then watching the drawing come to life with color!
