I have always loved painting and photographing ferns. There are so many different varieties with various shades of color and they always add something to the either the painting or the photographs I take. The fern really plays a role in this painting I did in Pen & Ink with gouache on watercolor paper. The black cat sits giving a cold shoulder yet ears appear as if to listen to the surrounding ferns whisper.
