This is a picture of a woodnymph, hidden behind the leaves. She lives among the trees, protecting them while watching you... You might wonder if she is dangerous or not. You will probably know when you harm their environment.
For this painting I found inspiration in memories that I had when I was little. When my parents, sister and I went for a walk into the forest, I always had the feeling there was more around us then just trees, bushes and toadstools. And of course my imagination created the rest of this story.
And I was right. We weren't alone....
There were other things then trees around us. And I could hear them making sounds and move around..
It could be anyting, like squirrels, rabbits, birds, insects and.... wood nymphs?
This piece became the first of a series that I call the: 'Between the...' project. I've painted more nymphs like these later on. Inspired by a fantastical memory of my youth.
It was a lot of fun painting all the details in the leaves. Especially since I was trying out my new green paints ^_^.
