I've been working at painting furniture for several years now. I've sold 175+ at a gallery in Algoma, WI called The Flying Pig. It's a time consuming passion. But the end product is functional and long lasting. I also do commissioned work and have completed about 75+ works for various clients.

Art and writing have always gone hand in hand for me. Sometimes a chair will be themed -- I've done Shakespeare, Mark Twain, Emily Dickinson, etc. Art is a celebration of ideas.

Klee, Modigliani, Miro, Picasso - all the abstract artists inspired me with their bold lines, color and spontaneous expression. It has taken me several years to develop my own style and it's constantly changing. I like to use photographs (uncopyrighted of course!) in my artwork and seem to have an obsession with statues, maybe because they freeze moments in history.

My paintings could best be described as collages for I like the feel of objects, the texture rearranging sensibilities, reflecting emotion.
