"Dorothy in the Poppies" is the new Original Painting - the next in my ever popular Wizard of Oz series. It is a "triptych" - which means that it is actually three paintings - this one is divided by gold/bronze painted wooden and resin mouldings/frames (I painted them myself!) - a sort of "3 in 1" type of piece. There are little architectural details - columns, carved wooden flowers, etc. The center panel features the lovely Dorothy - just laying herself down to take a rest in the field of poppies - little does she know, she will soon be drifting off into a dangerous sleep..... The two side panels each feature paintings of poppies in fields, and there are some "basement" panels featuring carved flowers on painted grass. My husband Matty custom handcrafted the panel & frame out of wood and resin! It is very lightweight wood and can easily be hung on any wall. It is quite large - 24" wide by 22" at the peak - and about .75" or so thick on the columns and carved wood & resin details. I am so happy I am able to create works like these, and by collaborating with my husband and his workshop, I truly have made my dream a reality. I am very proud of this painting. It really has to be seen in person to appreciate it! It is READY TO HANG and is really stunning, finished with a glossy varnish. "Dorothy in the Poppies" is 24"x22", and is an original acrylic painting.
