I made this specifically for the Childhood Memories show and I'm thankful for the inspiration to document part of my son's childhood. I chose collage as one of the mediums because it is so versatile in mixing things together and it gave me the ability to add a fantasy element with the background grass and sky. To start, I underpainted the canvas with acrylic and painted my son then I copied a drawing he had done a couple of years ago using watercolor crayon and real crayon. I used assorted pieces of decorative paper for the background and then I had my son draw the little pictures which I collaged onto the foreground. This will be something special for him to keep as a childhood memory.
