I've
made art my whole life.
I
was three when I made my first sculpture
out of my brother's tighty
whitey's,
some pink fabric and glue.
I
called it 'The Underwear Monster.'
My mom still has that
thing....

Thank you for your interest in my work. I am a self-supporting freelance artist. I am academically trained and I have 'created stuff' as long as I can remember. I can work in many styles and mediums including painting, sculpture, ceramics, tile, jewelry and metalwork.
I am a Colorado native, I have lived and worked in downtown Denver since
completing my BFA in Studio Art from the University of Colorado at
Boulder.
My current work explores ideas of reuse and humanity. I try to source materials for my work that are not entirely new but focus on giving new context to used objects. Cigar boxes become purses, scrap lumber is made into canvas stretchers, kitchen cabinet doors are refinished and painted. By reconsidering what we view as disposable, and layering new context upon an object's function, it once again has a value which can even exceed its original
potential. My painting style is best described as funky,
cartoonish, and maybe even a bit sarcastic. My work is mainly figurative.
I like to explore multiple mediums with an emphasis on corporeal politics
and the dynamic of the body in society.
