about my art

If you were to have asked me in high school and early college, I would have told you I was going to become an abstract artist. Instead, I've gone the way of my predominantly-figurative muses, including a passion for u-kiyoe prints, the impressionists, Alice Neel, Frida Kahlo, Kiki Smith, Gustav Klimt, Carravaggio, & Duane Michals. My background in art history informs much of my work.

My current focus is botanical photography, with most of my subjects inhabiting my garden, a passion of mine. Through it all, I hope to derive something that is uniquely my own.

about me

Amie's background includes studies in Art, Art History, and Film Studies at Columbia Basin College and the University of Pittsburgh, as well as past experience working with and for various Pittsburgh galleries and interior designers. When she's not making art or gardening, she's probably teaching yoga at Moonglow Yoga in Greensburg, PA. She also greatly enjoys talking about herself in the third person.
