Media:  Oil on Canvas
Dimensions:  18" x 14"
Date of Work:  June 2006

This is a painting I painted in studio from the live model. I worked on this for a few days this week. I really enjoyed painting it and am really enjoying painting the big shapes in and then sort of finding the details much later in the work. In this painting I got into the "zone" and just painting for the pure joy of painting. I feel I am getting into new places with the oil technique which I didn't even know existed before.

I took the bus home with this this morning ( the model was late, I finished this painting already, and we are having a new model on Monday so I semi-bailed on studio today ). The bus driver liked it, and so did the doorman of the building. In this painting I feel my artistic voice is starting to come through and meld with the more classical technique. I hope to move forward with both as time and work progresses.
