This piece is one of a series of works depicting musical instruments and musicians. The violin is an important part of my life and it gets centre stage in this painting. Some of the colourful background pattern is based on Ukranian shawls a family member passed down to me. There are bronze and gold highlights in this piece--on display with gallery lighting, the colours are even more vibrant!
