This is a handmade "primitive" book (with quite a bit of altered items collaged into it) that has taken quite a bit of time (i.e. a lot of late nights) to create, it is not really theme based, rather it reflects my imagination/thoughts or any immediate influence at the time each page was created. It is approx. 9" high x 6.56" wide and loosely 3" thick. There are 10 pages, including covers (total, if counting front and back of each page, is 20 pages). It contains many elements, some hand-drawn/hand-painted art, paper and text, water-colored backdrops, and many more features/elements. The front and back covers are based on cardboard, the front cover uses a much thicker board than the back. Inner pages are based on quality watercolor paper. Each page is separated by gold tissue paper to keep the pages from sticking together (this is because the cover and first page of the book are heavy and the weight tends to make the pages stick). Example effect, the inside cover has the word "Welcome" flipped over so that when you open it the facing page will reflect the correct orientation within the mirror. The altered book is hand made (i.e. did not originate as a bound book), all are loose pages woven together.  This auction will also include a 6.75" black display easel to set the book upon (as seen in images below). It will be signed and dated on the back cover. Materials: Large round mirror, eyelash and miscellaneous fibers and threads, a variety of modern and vintage ephemera (including pages from vintage diaries, post cards, photos, etc.) and embellishments (including vintage items, such as a real vintage metal & glass butterfly), fabric, various papers, tags, feathers, and a whole lot more.
