Fairy House #1: Afternoon Tete-a-Tete in Gnome and Fairylet Land.

This is painting 1 of a series of 3 paintings of fairy houses made from squash.

I am influenced by so many great artists and illustrators, in particular the children's book illustrators of the present and past. Having been fortunate enough to illustrate one published children's book, I constantly crave doing another one. The illustrator's who've influenced my work the most are first and foremost FRIDA and Diego. Then the current children's book illustrator's Debbie Tilley and Babette Cole. Elwood Smith whose work you see in many magazine illustrations. The older children's book illustrator's Wanda Ga'g and Dr. Seuss and all the amazing Walt Disney animated film illustrators.

My three fairylet house paintings tell a story. In the first, this one, the fairylets stop for an afternoon delight complete with "Do Not Distub" sign and shoes outside of the door. In the second painting, the fairylets have moved on and have a family now as seen by the three pairs of shoes outside of their comfy home, including one little pair. In the third paiting the kids have all grown up and moved and it's just the two fairylet's left to occupy their home. Notice that now the sexy black high heels of the female fairylet have been replaced with pink scuffs. Ha, ha, does this sound familiar? It does to me ;)

My work is done using high quality expensive all archival acid-free materials and only the best synthetic fur-free brushes. My work has a lifetime guaranteed by the artist to last and last and if there are ever any problems with the painting (or the framing if you buy one framed), just contact me and I'll make it right.

All work is copyright to the artist and may not be duplicated or copied in any way without express permission of the artist. If you are interested in duplicating my work, just e-mail me and maybe we can work something out.
