When I hear the words "Route 66", I remember the old t.v. show that I loved by the same name. George Maharis and Martin Muller (I think) speeding down Route 66 in their new Corvette! Can't beat it. I grew up at the same time these highways were being built (ooops, did I just give away my age?). In order to get the sense of what it was like living in those heady days, you have to listen to Miles Davis' jazz. Nothing else captures the feel of the newly opened American highway system than Davis' music. Mobility, speed, freedom - and endless blacktop ahead of you to explore.

My ode to Route 66 represents my memory of what it was like when dad took us on vacations with our little pop-up camper all over the country. I especially remember Route 66 and wanting to steal the roadsign because I thought it was so cool. Of course dad didn't let me! The font I used for "66" reminds me of the way the Route 66 roadsigns were lettered. Thanks dad for those wonderful days of freedom :)

This is a tiny original work of art called an Art Card. ACEO's is what they are called on Ebay and they are collectible and affordable. This work of art has been sold, but if you'd like a similar piece, just contact me. This is made with watercolor dyes, India ink and colored pencil and coated with 4 coats of varnish so it will last. Thanks for looking at my art and Enjoy, Annie All work copyright and VERO protected
