I like to use one word to describe my work. Leaving the viewer free to draw their own conclusions and personalize the meaning of the work. "Essential" is one from my Ensemble series. The Ensemble series is about an ensemble, collection of color and has no representational imagery. The meaning of my work relies strongly on the implied activity of the painted surface, especially the signs of brushing, layering and smearing of the paint.
