Meant for the 2008 Pet Portrait Swap, this is now an entry in the Late Show. A portrait of Dawn Thompson's lovely foundling, Lucy. Once bedraggled and lost, she has blossomed under Dawn's care into a shining star. No one would mistake this beauty to be anything but a member of Dawn's family. I liked her reference photo all snuggled on some beautifully-patterned pillows, and enjoyed working this piece loose and used an earthy palette. Thanks for swapping with me Dawn, it was a true joy to paint Lucy.
