Day of the Dead honors those who have passed on. In this rendition, I depict one of the ancestors who is celebrating, too. She has gathered some of the gifts left for her by living family members, which pleases her. She is surrounded by orange marigolds (the flower of the dead), some fresh and some faded from years gone by. She also wears them in a garland for her hair - another gift. I created this piece from a victorian photo adding other photos and clip art along with brush work on top of scrapbook paper. All assembled in Photoshop.
