The solemn silouhette of this black bird lends itself to the intrigue of Edgar Allan Poe's poem- " The Raven" with it's aire of mystery and darkness.
Poe writes: By the grave and stern decorum of the countenance it wore, "Though thy crest be shorn and shaven thou," I said, "art sure no craven, Ghastly, grim, and ancient raven, wandering from the nightly shore. Tell me what the lordly name is on the Night's
Plutonian shore. "Quoth the raven, "Nevermore."
I created this effect through photo enhancement, adding a graduated contrast to portray night falling, with a slight softening around the edges. The digital photo was shot on an over cast day.
