I am a self-taught artist. I sometimes enjoy not knowing the "rules" because of the freedom it allows. Once in a while, I catch myself feeling constrained by vague, barely conscious thoughts about creating something the "right way", at which point I remind myself - there IS no "right way"! Isn't art great?

I have a Bachelor of Science degree in music from Binghamton University and a Master of Science degree in Child, Family, and Community Studies from Syracuse University.

I started painting in 1994, making decorative "welcome" signs,etc. In 2001, I went through a rapid evolution art-wise and began painting portraits and seascapes. Recently, I have settled into painting new members of The Cranky Cat Collection (TM) each year.
