I was so touched by the sudden loss of Amie & Bill Gillingham's cat "Pixie" that I felt compelled to create a second piece for the Pet Portrait Swap - a portrait for them.

Pixie is surrounded by an Art Nouveau style border, with his name intertwined into the left side. Beneath him are a few Forget-Me-Not flowers; beside him are roses from his favorite rose bush, and "bleeding hearts" flowers, often used to symbolize the passing of a loved one. There are rainbow colors in the black of his coat, symbolizing the Rainbow Bridge.

I've shown him with a gentle quirky smile (don't all cats smile?) and with faerie wings, befitting his name.

I don't have a swap partner for this pet portrait - it was done with love and appreciation of the special bond between cats and their people.
