Date of Work:  July 2004

When looking through Joseph Kephart’s portfolio of digital pieces to choose from for the 2004 EBSQ Ripped Off Show, I decided to combine elements from “Eve The New Board Game” and “Dorothy in Oz.” Joe’s art is amazingly detailed with imagery, textures, patterns and colors, which are the same elements that I love to incorporate into my own paintings. I picked a few of the faces & and other symbols that I liked, kept some of his colors (sepia for the tin man) and I tried to represent the grass texture from “Eve” by painting a more abstract but textured background in my version. Thank you Joe for letting me rip you off, this was a very enjoyable project! --Lo**
