Media:  Giclee on Canvas (around 1.5" Stretcher Bar)
Dimensions:  Approx: 20"x 21"
Date of Work:  Dec. 2003

This piece was inspired from my own love for surfing, which I have passionately done for 11 years. I really wanted to capture the essence of the evolution of how surfboards have changed over time, in a modern and somewhat humorous fashion. I titled this piece "The Lineup" because of the composition of the surfboards theirselves', and their purpose in the ocean out in "the lineup" which we surfers call the area where you sit and wait for the waves. The boards almost seem to be lined-up as if to choose which one "did it" per say. Was it the old "Duke Board" with it's ancient knowledge and pride for originating it's sport, or was it the feisty little new shortboard on Duke's opposite end? "The Lineup" original was given as a gift from me to my father-in-law Christmas of 2003, and is now available in a limited edition "giclee" series of hand-painted, signed and numbered Artist Proofs (AP) of 55 for $275 USD, and a standard signed & numbered edition of 155 for $200 USD.
