Alchemical Marriage is my attempt after 2 years of meditation and painting failure to symbolize the whole of the alchemical process in one complete form, one symbol. The figure of the golden sun communes with the figure of the silver moon. They hold the mercurial chalice in red, with the blackened background forming the shape of heart's true love.
This piece was created with very thin layers of acrylic paint washed over a very black/red background on 3/4" gallery wrapped canvas. The depth and beauty of this piece has been washed out slightly by glaring of photographic lighting. This piece is currently available for purchase.
