He wears a stunning and colorful feathered headdress. His horse is a ightly dappled appaloosa. This watercolor original of a Native American Chief uses a contemporary soft palette as well as a lot of detail. For your Western Art Collection. artist's statement: I realize that the Western Art theme has gone somewhat out of fashion in the last decade. I am here to state that I paint what inspires me and I do not paint for public taste, but sincerely hope you will appreciate my work. I strive for quality and originality both in style and subject matter. I stand by my work with a life commitment. I may be a lone duck painting western life in this day and age and especially living in the northwest--but the truth is, I've always followed my way which has always been different, and I guess that's why I am an artist.
