This is number 2 in a series of war masks. The word "Kola" means a friend with which you could ride into battle. The native peoples made these elaborately decorated war masks for their trusted mounts. The used beads, feathers, fringe, shells, whatever they had on hand or traded for. They were works of art in their own right.
