I started out with a passion for painting. One of my teachers says if you can paint, you can paint anything, and I believe she is right. While learning and growing as an artist and painting a little of everything under the sun, I stumbled upon another phase of that passion when I painted my first cow.
I work from photographs that I take myself, so before I could paint a cow it was necessary to visit a dairy and photograph some. I fell for them completely, and enjoyed just being with them so much that I carried that feeling home with the photos and set out to translate it through my paintings.
I call my style 'painterly realism'.
