This is a Zatloukal Original Painting, Acrylic on 16” x 20” gallery wrapped canvas, entitled SUMMER COTTAGE UNDER A GIANT OAK. It is painted in a design that I call, “Outsider Folk Art Deco”. It was a fun piece to do and it works the imagination. I have been painting and creating works of art for almost thirty years. I have sold numerous pieces, directly and commissioned, throughout the US as well as; Europe, Canada and Australia. In art, as in literature, the artist can take poetic license in creating, for there are no rules except what the artist sees or doesn’t see. I paint from whatever ‘moves me’ emotionally, rather than what might be perceived as intellectual or popular. I believe that is where real art comes from. I paint in many different styles and techniques, using both oil and acrylic paint, as well as textures and other mediums. As an artist, I feel the need to keep exploring, searching, and discovering new things through creating different paintings and other pieces of art so that I am not confined or restricted to one style, type or genre of art and painting.
