Myth, legend, fairy tales, ancient and modern fiction, these are all my playgrounds. In our modern society, where science and technology de-mystifies the world, there is a need for story tellers. I have been one since an early age, and everyday feel the need to revive imagination in daily life.
Ancient, classical, and modern stories are my main resources. They explore the human condition and our relationship with the universe while providing archetypical characters and themes. They also challenge the viewer with unfamiliar and fantastic imagery.
I work in many two dimentional materials. Drawing, painting, printmaking and collage are common for me and I often mix materials into a piece. This range keeps me interested and allows for a specific marriage of subject and medium. My style reflects my interests; Romantcism, Symbolism, Illustration, Art Nouveau, and History. Among many others.
Originally from Vancouver, Canada, I now reside in Central Alberta with my family, two dogs and cats, where I work out of my studio, AKA: Tempest Studios. I am an up and coming artist and I hope to make art collectors out of everyone I meet.
