Three Glass Brooches

Round pins are 1 7/8" diameter and the rectangle is 1 7/8" x 3/4"

I have always been attracted to mosaics and for this show I wanted to work small and try something with a twist.

For one round and one rectangle brooch I used glass bases and embellished them with smashed mosaic tile. For a bit of added interest (and the twist) I used crystal A/B size 15/o seed beads for the "grout" between the larger pieces.

I then used the smallest bits of smashed mosaic tile mixed with the seed beads for one of the round brooches.

The beads add extra texture and these have a lovely translucent quality and a wonderful sparkle.
