I decided I would work with a few more sculptural pieces when I found this figure at a discount store. The figure originally had its head and arms. For some reason, I enjoyed hacking off the limbs - I guess I will have to talk with my therapist about that. (just kidding there) (no, really) (oh come on, I was joking). Not only were the limbs removed, the base was altered, since it was wobbly, plain and ugly.

Anyway, when I was removing the head, I was thinking about Marie Antoinette and her demise. Since this obviously wasn't Marie, I thought it was probably her little known sister "Peg". Incidentally, Peg's shape is very peg-like.

The torso was then sanded and shaped slightly. Tiny shards of gold and violet mirror glass were attached, as well as a mix of the Van Gogh glass. After the adhesive cured, the piece was grouted in black grout.

This piece is sold: Phoenix Gallery. 916-447-1632 1801 L Street #211 Sacramento, CA 95814 (on 18th between K & L st.)
