I created this piece as part of a class on Collage and Assemblage I am taking at the local Sacrmento College. When I began it, I was trying to get outside my usual style and was going toward minimalistic. LOL. Guess that didn't work out.

The doll inside of the box is being pushed up by angels. She is being redeemed from her life of superficialism. She has realized that true beauty is within.

Some of the items adorning the box include a miniature disco ball (my husband was so glad to see this go - I guess he just doesn't approve of disco balls) mirrors, jewelry, beach glass with writing, flat rocks, child's tea cups, silver fineals, keyboard keys and other doll parts.

I placed this in the College's annual art sale for $150. Part of the proceeds go toward the college's art department's operating fund.
