Media:  costume jewelry mosaic on wood
Dimensions:  10 " x 10"
Date of Work:  2007

I often comb thrift stores, garage sales and flea markets looking for items to include in my mosaics. I started making these mirrors with a lot of costume jewelry found at a flea market and some lots off of eBay. They are my newest obession.

This mosaic was done on the infamous IKEA 10" mirror using mastic which I colored with black concrete colorant. The purple jewelry pieces (earrings, watches, pendants, pins, necklaces and chains) and other findings were embedded directly into the mastic, leaving no need for grouting.

This piece is currently donate to the Board of Equalizations fund raiser for the 16th floors Christmas part.
