There is nothing more magical than glass. I love experimenting with it and this is one of those moments where you pull it out of the kiln and although it wasnt what you had expected you are thrilled with the result! This is two layers of thick Bullseye glass with a leaf from a Plume Poppy fused between the layers. The leaf becomes a skeleton in the fiing process. Once it cools I place it on a slumping mold and fire it again to form a curve so that the piece can stand up..Now the magical part is the piece cracked down the center corner to corner in a natural pattern. Although it looks completely cracked thru it is held together by moments where the glass re-melted forming a very visually pleasing and fun sculpture!
