For me if art isn't fun it isn't worth doing. I have a quirky sense of humor which oftentimes is portrayed in my work. I am basically a self taught dabbler who enjoys putting my paintings on eBay and still gets a huge thrill when someone bids on them.
I am 47 and my kids are grown and now I have more time for doing art. Between the farm chores that is. I enjoy Sharpie pen, pen and ink, colored pencil, collage, beads and acrylics best. I do mess with other mediums such as watercolor and encaustic wax.
My favorite subjects are what are near and dear to my heart, animals and the people who love them. I also like to do a lot of sketching of landscapes and people. Someday I will perhaps feel bold enough to include them more in my work.
For now art is just a way of expressing myself and to have a bit of fun. If someone likes it that is the icing on the cake for me.
