This is my entry for the Portrait Swap for 2007. I swapped with Madeline Carol Matz. I really wanted to try something new for this and after browsing Madeline's blog, I thought she'd be up for something different.

I began by painting a wood block and wood ball black. I painted the head on the ball. I tried to capture Madeline's beautiful blue eyes and lovely hair. I collaged the front of the block with sky paper and words. (The quote is Madeline's favorite.) I then added some golden embellishments. The arms are a pencil and a paint brush since Madeline is an amazing artist. The legs are vintage door stoppers.

The entire piece has a very fun, playful feel to it which is what I was going for since that was the feel I got from Madeline herself.
