Homepage of Art by Andy
Hello viewer, thank you for stopping by. The world of art is very precious to me. Those of us who are creative must have an avenue by which we can express our talents. I am rebuilding my art studio, working my regular job as a business owner, so the new work is delayed, but, coming soon .
What I want is what we all want,to share our work with the world .
A quick history of my life will help you understand the principles that dictate the creation of what the viewer enjoys. Born in a very populated St. Louis subdivision, one of five children, and one of 125 children located within a city block, the need for identity was tremendous. All went by a nickname, one that normally constituted your worst physical feature or habits. Naturally this history makes simple the cartoon drawings. As for myself, raised under the strict influence of my artistic mother (who decorated department store windows) ,my natural eagerness for the world of art was set. As artist often quote, this is something you are born with. Throughout grade school and high school, trades included, somehow my originals were set up in high places, and were examples set by various instructors. Soon I realized my gifts.
Who is Barndoor Bones? Barndoor Bones© is a character first thought up in 1974. He is the caricature of my brother Jason that I drew on my bedroom wall long ago. My parents thought my drawing was a riot, so I kept it. Jason was too tall, thin and skeletal, and he never closed the bedroom door; or any door for that matter! I would yell, "Hey! Do you live in a barn! Close the door!" Thus Jason became known as Barndoor Bones, a fitting nickname.
The mediums I enjoy for other art and sculpture are combined with the knowledge of working trades . To put it simply, I am blessed in being talented with my hands, I can memorize colors, And in all respect to my fellow teachers and constituents, I have my own style.
I have been off this site for a number of years, please accept my apology if you will. 2009 has brought me back into the artist circle.
I hope that you find my fixed media and acrylics interesting, original as it is.
May God bless ,
Yours truly,
-Andy
P.S. Look forward for some interesting art in 2009.
