This mermaid is in a deep thought about her captive beauty. Will she resurface above to set it free or will she be content to keep it alive in her special bottle? Her world is not even aware of her big dilemma.

Sailor type tattoos have symbols or creatures of the ocean. I didn't want a common scene of a mermaid on the rocks with a harp. I wanted to depict a moment in a mermaid's private thoughts with the other fish swimming by unaware of her deepest desires. I am so pleased with this painting!

The tattoo rendition on the client's arm is beautifully done. Skillfully rendered on a non-flat surface and the palette compliments the flesh tone pleasingly. I was very flattered that one of my collectors wanted to have a permanent art by me on her arm!

Thanks to my inspiration, model and good friend Nedda Angelina Shishegar, this piece was already beautiful before I picked up my pencil!
