I had one opportunity to work from a live model and it was my first time to build a sculpture. Although I have drawn and painted hundreds of people/figures, creating a 3D interpretation was very challenging because it a puzzle that had to make sense in the end, otherwise it wouldn't look right. I also wanted to capture the model who was a beautiful petite redheaded model with romantic qualities to her as if she stepped out of an Old Master's studio. I was pleased that my sculpture of her seem to have frozen a moment with a thought in her mind. I picture her in her bedroom maybe when she caught her reflection in the mirror and she seemed perfectly comfortable about being completely nude.
