Everett, Washington native Melyssa A. Harmon began her journey as an artist in May 2004 after reaching her goal of becoming a successful music journalist in Los Angeles, California. Melyssa’s natural talents are apparent as her use of swirls, texture and creative color choices fill each piece with playful emotion to produce one of a kind pieces that touch art enthusiasts around the world. Melyssa uses acrylic paint with other textured mediums on both linen paper and stretched canvas, merging pop art and organic abstract in a unique style all her own.

Beginning with her first juried show at the Port of Everett “Fresh Paint” Art Festival in August 2005, Melyssa has enjoyed both national and international success. After completing a four month showcase in September 2006 at Seattle, Washington café LC’s Kitchen, owners Paula and Pauline touted Melyssa as, “the most successful artist LC’s has had to date.” In June 2007 Melyssa was honored to create and contribute a large nautical-themed piece for the new YWCA and Snohomish County children’s advocacy center, Dawson Place. She has also contributed work to the Pro-Choice Washington / NARAL Liberty Ball Auction, Bethany of The Northwest Foundation, and United Way while active in other humanitarian, human and equal rights organizations worldwide.

Melyssa’s true love is the arts. When not painting, she can be found taking photographs, camping, gardening, writing poetry or playing the piano as Lead Activity Assistant for Bethany at Pacific – a Lutheran based skilled nursing facility in Everett, WA celebrating the spirit of seniors!
