This was captured during a rare visit to White Sands National Park in 1996. I say rare because when we arrived at the entry booth the lady commended us for visiting on the only day the park had been open to the public for the entire month. She then went on to explain that the U.S. government still does testing nearby and indescrimanently closes the park and the road leading up to the park many times. Of course this is also the location in which the atomic bomb was first tested. So in keeping with that theme, I created a photograph of the place not how it is on the surface, but how it is with the inclusion of its controversal history - an expression of human and natural WRATH.
