Yellowstone National Park has always intrigued me. I think once I got past the misconception that this was solely a mecca for millions of RVs, I began to realize just how special this place was. The man who named and "discovered" Yellowstone originally referred to it as "Hell on Earth" in subsequent correspondence. It has certainly lived up to its hostile reputation, at least in appearance. It is a calous, grueling, beautiful and dangerous place, yet thousands of animals call it home. I am thankful that such places still exist, but am also aware that these parks are struggling financially each year because of dwindling budget cuts and our president's policies regarding these treasured places.
