One of the "Swat Team" greeting card series. This is my favorite of the series. What is the trophy? This is a digitally enhanced photo that I took with a electron microscope. My willing subject (ok, it was dead, coated in gold and didn't have a choice in the matter) was your every-day mosquito. Its tropy is a rather large and spherical hunk of human skin stuck near its mouthparts. EEEEW! right? Well, yeah, but this photo has some formal aspects that are really appealing. The viewer just has to ask themself how important the subject matter is to their assessment of the piece. Personally, I believe that as gross as they are, mosquitos have their place in this world for a reason, and depending on how you look, they can be beautiful, too.
