This is an older watercolor plein aire from the banks of the New River in Virginia. Created in late fall, the scene shows gnarles trees, many of which have lost their leaves entirely. This small painting captures a moment in time and the essence of a day I spent painting and fishing by the river.
Winsor Newton watercolors on Strathmore Aquarius II paper. The painting has 2 deckle (raw) edges (top and bottom).
