The inspiration for this purse came about when I was sorting stamps, and was noting the shear number of american symbolism in my collection. I started pulling all the "America" type stamps and cameup with the idea of making a unique one of a kind purse.
This purse was created using 33 different stamps totally over 300. Though taking into consideration they are all cancelled differently they are each unique in their own way. The stamps range from vintage to current, and there are some great ones on here. The denominations range from bulk rate, G rate, 1,2,3,4,10,13,15,18,20,22,23,25,29,32 cents. It is fashioned from a vintage cigar box, not a store bought one.
When creating this purse I thought alot about all the correspondence that was sent, love letters, postcards, miss you notes. It's a little sad the form of handwritten communication is making way for emails - soon stamps as we know them will be a thing of the past.
