This is my piece for the Sideshow show. I chose the Fiji Mermaid as my insperation. The Fiji Mermaid was a traveling member of the Barnum & Bailey Circus sideshow for many years. The carcass of a "real" mermaid was purchased from a fisherman who claimed to have caught it in his net back in 1822 or so. The story varys but for those who believed it they now had proof of the existance of mermaids. For others it was just a monkey corpse shoved inside fish skin. Truth be told noone will ever know for sure since it was destroyed in a fire in 1865. This piece is sold.

The Body Language series is a study of emotions. These subjects are naked not only physically but also emotionally exposed. In an effort to convey their emotions, attitudes, characteristics, I use of colors and poses. The faces, and skin tones are purposely ommited as to not confuse or sway the viewer.
