Darlene Russell creates her art in painting, sculpture and mixed medium forms.
" I like incorporating into my artwork humorous things I've observed while watching people. Everyday life is glorious so I'm either going to paint it or sculpt it! But I don't limit myself. My mind is constantly working and exploring new avenues. I like to stay fresh and am not afraid to try anything new"
Her art appears in private as well as public collections all over the U.S. and Canada and has worked professionally as a muralist for interior designers, puppet creator for Clearwater Florida's "Joy Junction" children's television program. And has created works of art on commission for celebrities such as Stephanie Mills, Tony Randall and the Detroit Red Wings among others.
Well known for her whimsical sculpture creations, some of her creative art teapots are in the collection of Sonny Kamm who's "The art of Tea" collection appears in the Charlotte Museum of Art and Design in Charlotte North Carolina.
