Sept. 7/04 This magnet was created using a recycled business card blank for the base, with gold webbing and a scrap of an old bingo card in the background, along with a vintage image of a lovely young woman (reproduction - hand tinted). The quote is, "A Day Without Laughter Is A Day Wasted," from Charlie Chaplin. A matte sealant has been used to protect the piece. The effect I am going for with these pieces is fun and funky. I refer to my work as "primitive" because my use of recycled materials often results in the finished product looking a bit rough or unrefined, which I think just adds to the interest and character of the individual piece. Scan does not do this piece justice! It has much more detail than can be shown in the scan. It would make a very unique gift for that special someone or a real conversation piece of "appliance art" for your home or office. And remember, it's never to early to be thinking about Christmas !!
