To decay - to gradually disintegrate - to rot - the process of gradually becoming inferior.

I spent the day outside taking pictures of dying leaves and needles, rotting pine cones, broken and soggy branches, and the earth they are returning to. I found that mixed in with some of these items left in nature, were bits of paper, plastic, and other unidentifiable items left by humans - transient art left by Mother Nature mingling with waste left by humans. All of it breaking down into nothing.

This image was created using my Nikon Coolpix digital camera. I used a color enhancer and blurred the edges for a more dramatic effect.
